1972 - 2022
Celebrate 50 years of molding medical minds.
I am very excited to share with you information about the 50th anniversary celebration of WVSOM's founding. It is amazing how far our institution has come during the past fifty years and exciting to see how far we will go in the next 50! The unlikely journey from the school's humble beginnings to becoming a national leader for producing graduates who practice in rural settings is truly remarkable and one to celebrate!
A year-long celebration has been planned for this year that will include events on our Lewisburg campus, throughout our statewide campus regions, as well as, alumni get togethers outside of West Virginia. The celebration will culminate in a Golden Jubilee celebration, an all-school reunion and the celebration of our Founders Day.
I anticipate these events will bring together alumni, faculty, staff, students, friends, legislators, business leaders, community members, applicants, media and others to celebrate the contributions the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine has made over the past 50 years to West Virginia, the Appalachian region and the nation!
Please bookmark this page so you can refer to it throughout the year as additional information and materials are added.
I want to thank everyone who is serving on the 50th Anniversary Planning Committee. I appreciate everyone's extra work to make this year special.
I invite everyone to join in the celebration of our institution's 50th Anniversary!
