Adelman Recognized

President Michael Adelman, D.O., J.D. has been recognized by local groups for his outstanding leadership of WVSOM.  Adelman was awarded the 2018 Business Leader of the Year distinction during the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Meeting.

“Positive outcomes and good deeds do occur amidst a chaotic world landscape,” stated Steve Sarver, WVSOM Board of Governors member, as he introduced Adelman as the honoree. “However, what seems increasingly rare are moralistic, humane motives propelling these wonderful end results.  Dr. Michael Adelman, as one, should be held in the utmost esteem, for his motives ring as pure and good as his humane results that benefit all the institutions and people he touches.”

Chamber President Donna Burns emphasized the accomplishments Adelman has made at WVSOM and within the community.  On behalf of the Chamber she presented him with an original watercolor of the Student Center on WVSOM’s campus.
Adelman expressed his deep appreciation for all the support given to him and WVSOM during his 16 year tenure.  “(Tonight) is about celebrating what we’ve achieved together,” he stated.

He emphasized that so much more is accomplished when people work together and he was proud to have played a role in the partnerships that the local businesses garner with the school.

Another such partnership exists between educators at WVSOM and the Greenbrier County School system.  School superintendent Jeff Bryant recently recognized Adelman during a regular meeting for his contributions to education and the local community.

“It is a wonderful opportunity and an honor for us to thank Dr. Adelman,” stated Bryant.  “He is a friend of education and steward of wellness.”
He commended Adelman for his leadership and achievements while at WVSOM and wished him well for his retirement.  Adelman was presented with an honorary diploma from Greenbrier County Schools.
