NBOME donated flood relief funds to WVSOM

The National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) presented a check to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) to support flood relief efforts at the school.

WVSOM President Michael Adelman, D.O., D.P.M., J.D., accepted the $500 check on behalf of the school, which was presented at the executive board reception on Sept. 9. The money will benefit WVSOM students, faculty and staff who have been affected by the June flood.

NBOME President and Chief Executive Officer John Gimpel, D.O., M.Ed., FACOFP, FAAFP, and NBOME Board Chair Gary Slick, D.O., MA, presented the check.

“The NBOME Board was very saddened to learn of the devastation and destruction caused by the recent floods in West Virginia,” Gimpel said. “The National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners expresses its best wishes to the WVSOM community in making this small contribution to WVSOM students in need as a result of the recent flooding. Our continued thoughts and prayers are with those who suffered.”

The NBOME is the leading assessment organization for the osteopathic medical profession. Its mission is to protect the public by providing the means to assess competencies for osteopathic medicine and related health care professions.
