WVSOM is a dynamic medical school that is committed to providing its students with a top-notch, quality osteopathic medical education that prepares students to be 21st century leaders in the osteopathic profession and our nation’s Health Care system. 

Our educational mission is to educate students from diverse backgrounds as lifelong learners in osteopathic medicine and complementary health related programs and to advance scientific knowledge through academic, clinical and basic science research.

WVSOM prepares osteopathic medical students to enter any specialty or location while emphasizing primary care in rural areas. From innovative programs, to community-based training, to state-of-the-art facilities, WVSOM has much to offer students who are interested in a more personal, holistic approach to healthcare.
