Options For Postdoctoral Education

The Office of Graduate Medical Education at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine has compiled a comprehensive guide with detailed information about the osteopathic match and other postdoctoral avenues available to students. This manual provides students with details about the match process as well as advice for choosing postdoctoral sites, completing applications, refining interview skills, among other things.

Applications and Other Forms

All osteopathic internship programs will initiate the use of the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to receive applications for the 2006-2007 application season. Information about ERAS can be found on their website: www.aamc.org/students/eras/start.htm

Some osteopathic residency programs may still require the submission of paper applications. Students should consult with each program of interest to verify their application process and requirements.

For osteopathic residency programs affiliated with Mountain State OPTI which request submission of a paper application, please submit the AOA's Osteopathic Postdoctoral Training Application form, the Certification and Release form, and supporting documents as described in the Application Instructions.
