The mission of the Computer Services Department is to meet the telecommunication and information processing needs of WVSOM.  It will be perceived as a Center of Excellence within WVSOM.

Procedures

1. All requests for services/information are to be submitted to the Help Desk and acknowledged upon receipt.
2. All requests for services are to be assigned to a member of computer services for action.  That staff member will communicate with the requestor to discuss details and assign a proposed completion date.
3. All tasks will be fully documented. Any problems and/or delays will be noted. The requestor will be notified of any problems and/or delays, and this is to be noted. This is the responsibility of the individual assigned to the task.
4. The WVSOM web site is managed through the Ektron Content Management system.  Appropriate faculty and staff will be trained in the use of the system and permitted to make changes.  Complex changes will be made with assistance of Computer Services and must be submitted to Helpdesk.
5. Planning and/or development activities will receive specific scheduling and personnel assignments to be coordinated with the Chief Technology Officer.
6. These objectives shall be construed as the operational policies of Computer Services.
