Clinical Education

The clinical education program is designed to prepare WVSOM students for the practice of primary care osteopathic medicine. The basic program is designed not only to expose the student to high-tech, hospital-based medicine but to emphasize office-based, primary care practice and to enable graduates to be comfortable practicing in a rural community.

It also permits elective time sufficient to allow students to augment their training in specialty areas, and to successfully compete for internships.
