Becoming a Physician
The students at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine come to Lewisburg with backgrounds as broad as the West Virginia mountains.
Four years later Graduates leave with the tools to be a caring and qualified physician. They leave with a strong sense of community and the knowledge that they are forever part of the WVSOM family.
Some come to WVSOM directly from college, some with advanced degrees. Nearly 25 percent are from West Virginia, the rest from 47 states and Washington D.C..
Each year approximately two hundred aspiring doctors join WVSOM bringing our total student population to approximately 800 students in years one through four.
