Case Study - Adolescent Obesity (pdf)

The October 2003 SE AHEC Team focused on promotion of healthy nutritional behavior and appropriate exercise activity throughout the pre-adolescent and adolescent populations.

Targeting as large a group as possible and using the CARDIAC Program as a vehicle for information collection and distribution, the team developed a brochure to explain BMI, the risks of increased BMI and cholesterol, and nutrition and exercise guidelines.

This community project reached more than 500 youth within Fayette County and more than 8,500 youth within West Virginia.
